Rising From the Riverbed Store
Where in the hell is Beanland?! For those who do not know, Beanland was a band formed in Oxford, MS in
the late-80's by George McConnell and Bill McCrory. Rising From the
Riverbed (RFTR) tells the story of their beginning, end and everything
in between, all while interweaving the region's rich musical history
into the story.
The DVD is a two disc set. One disc being the 90 minute movie plus
special footage and interviews with JoJo, George and Producer Jim
Dickinson. The second disc is a compilation CD of music that inspired
the movie, featuring tunes by Allgood, The Grapes, ARU, Kudzu Kings
and others. Help us spread the word by screening the film for friends
in the comfort of your own home....or just by playing the disc when
you have folks over...both are sure to please.
Beanland Official Site: http://www.beanland.net
3 for 1 Koozies! Even if you have the DVD already, we have a deal for you. 3 Koozies
for the price of 1. That is right! $3.00 gets you 3 Koozies! Why?
Because it's hot in the summer time.
CD Recommendation Just wanted to mention a CD that has been in the player a lot of late,
Michael Houser's Sandbox. The importance of having such a time capsule
help us remember a man who we all came in touch with and respected
should not be over-looked.
You can buy both Door Harp and Sandbox from our friends at
AthensMusic.Net or Widespread Merchandise:

Thank You From Cloudscapes Productions
We would like to express our sincere thanks and appreciation to all who have purchased Rising From the Riverbed over the past year. Sales have been steady all year, and that could not have happened without the help of fans spreading the word (or any promotional items you helped hand out) about the movie.
Rising From the Riverbed can now be found in homes across the globe. This is truly remarkable for an independent film that had a small budget and even smaller team working it. All the support you have given Cloudscapes this year means more than you will ever know.
This project started out as an crazy idea in Director/Producer Scotty Glahn's mind 5 years ago, and nobody knew where it would lead at the time. However, with the help of Producer Kutcher Miller and Marketing Coordinator David Dean, the Cloudscapes team was able to bring a well-rounded story to the fans of Beanland and the Southern Rock scene.
Even though we will not be offering specials as spectacular as the Back to School Special or the Stocking Stuffer any more, we will try to switch up what is available in the Store on occasion over the coming years.
We hope you will continue to spread the word about this film and turn friends onto it who might want to learn more about the origins of the band and the current southeast touring circuit.
Thanks again for all your support and we hope to see you out and about soon.
Thanks for all the space-

Also, in the coming days, we will
be adding a special Cutting Room Floor section

not make it in the final edit of the film but we feel
are too special not to be seen by the fans. The

the band doing several different songs. We
should have the first clip up by the beginning
of July and a new one will be posted every other
week.

the film and while you are there please stop
by the message board to tell us what you think

We have several updates and announcements to make in

First of all, we would like to thank the guys (and Lisa) at Sweetwater Brewery
(www.sweetwaterbrew.com) for just the right amount of party
to kick off the Fox run. We had a great time checking out Tishamingo, screening
the film and raffling off some merch. That party was so big, even the train
conductor was chipping in with his horn! It was a great time and we highly
recommend a trip to the Sweetwater plant at some point in the near future.
***WEB-SITE***

With much help from our friends at On Tour Media (www.ontourmedia.com) we have added THE TRAILER and, without
going into much detail, the player automatically streams the highest band-width
your particular connection can handle. Needless to say, we don't understand
all the finer points of this process...just that the guys at On Tour did an
outstanding job.
Not only is the trailer up on the site but we have added some pictures, articles,
links and more stores where the DVD can be purchased. We will be adding more
pictures and press in the coming weeks. Thanks goes out to our new web master,
Laura, for her hard work.

section of the site. There is a lot that will be going
down in the next month, so you might want to check
for past updates you may have missed. If all goes well
with some things we are working on this week....we should
have some big news to share very soon. We are excited
as hell and very close to finalizing those details.
Thanks again.... I've seen this stuff hundreds of times
and I still laugh and cheer when I see some of the clips
as we comb through the footage.
Also I want to say thanks to George, Bill, Rob, Ron,
JoJo, Harry, JK, Po, Steve and Lance for making some
kick ass music that is ageless . Thanks for your creativity

New Website
February 26,
2004
We have a new website
up and running, www.risingfromtheriverbed.com. This
is where any and all info pertaining to the film will
be from here on out. Scotty and Kent are in the editing
bay working arduously through all of our footage and
putting together something we will all enjoy while
I try and keep other post-production responsibilities
in order in between trips to Oxford. We should very soon
have some dates and details nailed down for the "sneak
preview" which
will be in Memphis, Tn in mid to late May. The
Oxford Film Festival will "premiere" the
movie in June in Oxford, Ms. We will have details posted
for that as well very soon , and we are looking forward
to the reunion on April 24th at the Double Decker as
much as you guys are........
We promised a little taste of what we’ve been
working on and now that our website is up, we hope to
have that to you in the next few weeks. Thanks again
for everybody’s help and support and keep in touch........
Keep on Keepin On,
Kutcher and Scotty |
